My surface igniter cracked and my furnace stopped working on a Sunday and Bridge City came out on Monday at 10am and had it fully fixed and working by 11am. Can’t say enough good things and will call them again in the future!

I have had Fode come out to service my old gas furnace and a/c and was very happy with him. I got home late last night and noticed my furnace wasn’t kicking on. I called Bridge City this morning, and they were able to have their tech Dustin come out (within about an hour of calling). I luckily only needed a part replaced. Dustin was quick, efficient, and explained things. Would definitely recommend them.

We recently had an air conditioning unit installed by Bridge City H&R in our First Addition, LO, home. From the initial phone call to request an estimate, to the final building inspector approval, this project was well executed by Fode and his team. The company offered a plan that exactly met our needs. They did not try to 'up sell', but instead provided an option that maximized the value of our existing equipment while matching a new Lennox AC to the capacity of our existing forced air furnace. We got what we needed, but no more. Communication was excellent, the equipment works beautifully, timelines were met, and the estimate was not exceeded. Bridge City is amazing. They have bailed us out of 2 heating emergencies where our furnace went out in the middle of cold snaps. They answered after hours and was able to come out the next day. After a bad experience with another company, we needed to find someone to fix our A/C. This team was great, they arrived when they said they would, and were professional. They explained what they were doing in terms we could understand, without talking down to us. They made sure to keep us informed of what was going on. They were able to point out the issues the other company failed to find. As much as nobody wants to have to repair their A/C, Bridge City made the experience as good as it could be.

Bridge city is AWESOME. The furnace in my house broke during cold season with no heat going to the house, I was in a rush to get someone to fix my furnace because I have two little kids who were getting cold. Bridge city went above and beyond by fitting my issue into their busy schedule to help make sure my family had heat ASAP. They came out the day of, found the issue and fixed it the next day. I cant thank them enough since most other places I called was giving me a 1 week out appointment and even though they were just as busy they made it happen for us

We had a good experience with their preventive maintenance

My AC went out during the 115 degree heat wave, I called 30 plus repair shops many were not taking new clients or appointments were 3 plus weeks out. Bridge City however was working around the clock and was able to come to my rescue in two days. Fode showed up and in two minutes knew what was wrong and was able to fix the problem on my 25 year old system. The price was very reasonable. Great service and price. I will have them replace my whole system when things slow down.

When it was very cold and I did not have Furnance I called them it was a lot of snow and bad weather they come and fixed it for me they are excellent I am happy to work with them

The owner Fode performed much overdue maintenance work on my furnace. I had an error message showing on my thermostat, (which subsequently did require another visit to replace the relay switch). His assistant checked out my air conditioner while Fode worked on the furnace. Fode is also a journeyman electrician and does some teaching at PCC. Talk about qualified! Also, it turns out there is an air filter inside the furnace we never knew about, so hence never replaced in 6 yrs (yes, very gross) and it was a different size than what we had on hand, so Fode quickly drove to his warehouse and brought me 3. He's local for me, so just one more reason to have Bridge City as our go-to HVAC company. It feels good have trust in the work and integrity of a business. Recommend these guys for sure.

Bridge City took on a difficult repair that I had to fire another contractor from. The other contractor seemed to "milk" the project, making multiple trips just to diagnose the problem, with eye-watering bills each time. I fired them, and called a few other contractors to get help and some of them refused to help or never called back. Bridge City gave me a ballpark estimate up front, and stuck to it very closely. They put together a clear plan beforehand and explained it very clearly. They worked the manufacturer who are notoriously difficult to work with, to get a new condenser coil for the rare low-profile unit I have. They absorbed the cost of the coil, trusting that they will be reimbursed under warranty. Then they tested everything thoroughly and clearly explained it every step of the way. Thanks to Fode and Kenny for doing an excellent job, and taking a burden off my mind.

I would like to highly recommend Bridge City HVAC . This company saved us during the heatwave that was going on over July 4th weekend. As the weather was effecting a lot of households, many of the HVAC repair companies did not have any available service person to come and check the broken AC in our apartment. Bridge City HVAC was very busy as well, but because their team was already working on some AC in my neighborhood, they agreed to come and check our AC. The technician Jacob S. and his partner showed up within an hour, and were able to fix AC in our apartment on the spot. In less than hour we were able to enjoy a cool air in our apartment. Needed a gas line run to a new range stove and another vendor completely ghosted us. I called Bridge City abs explained our situation (new house, 8 month pregnant wife, non-working stove…) and they were out within 24 hours to assess. Fode was incredibly kind, welcoming, and took on the task with open arms. Had his crew out the next day to run our gas line for us and had it done ahead of schedule. Cannot say enough good things! UPDATE: had them back out to do a complex install; upgraded the fan outside and had them move it to the other side of the house. Additionally upgraded the electric furnace to gas, which required another gas line run and some crafty work on running tubes. They were very honest about my options and cost of equipment, and even took my old fan as it still worked to use for someone who may need it. Crew was great to see again, they are so kind and friendly. Still cannot recommend them enough!

Good and thorough and reasonably priced. Nice people with independent local business. VERY knowledgeable HVAC people. Owner is an electrical engineer and HVAC instructor. His technician discovered that my compressor had a start up booster which made it appear the system was working when it was not. It had been installed by my previous HVAC people without my knowledge and I had been heating with the electric furnace and wondering why my electric bills were so high. I got a new system, the most efficient one available and an air cleaner that can even clear fire smoke from forest fires for less than $2000 more than I paid for just the heat pump 15 years ago. A very good deal! I don't think I got so good a deal for an inferior system the last time. I would give my highest recommendation to this company!

Thanks to Bridge City for coming out to repair a broken heat vent under my Mother’s house. As with most older homes nothing is quite straight forward and my mother’s home was no exception. The weather was bad and crawling under the house was a dirty, frustrating task but Justin and Adam took it in stride and completed the job in a couple of hours. Kudos to them! I have used Bridge City in the past (they replaced my furnace and installed central air a year ago) and will continue to use them in the future!

When no other HVAC company was available and things were getting chilly, Bridge City HVAC quickly diagnosed & resolved our heating issue!

We replaced our heating system with Bridge City Heating and Refrigeration, and they built in the option to add air conditioning at a later date. A couple months ago we did some home remodeling which required us to move and replace our water heater. We of course wanted Bridge City back to do that job and we also had them add air conditioning. They have been great every time we’ve worked with them – friendly, knowledgeable, good at staying in communication, and actually enthusiastic about HVAC :) We highly recommend them!

I'm here with an update to my original review. Our AC went out and we needed a new one. We had a heck of a time until we remembered Bridge City. Fodi came out and gave us a quote, and then went to work getting us a new AC unit. They re very hard to come by right now, and the wait was even worse. But Fodi is someone who CARES. It's rare in this world, but he is the good in it. He worked evenings and weekends to get our new AC installed before the heat wave. Who does that? Bridge City! Fodi cares about his community, he had a kind and generous heart and he is someone who is actually making a difference just by being himself. I cannot possibly recommend them enough. They are hands down the best company I have ever worked with and I am grateful to them for my cool air and the privilege of calling them my neighbor! Our heater stopped working for unknown reasons. We called and they came out the same day. Every other company told us it would be weeks before they could come.. The guy was really nice, really polite, he didn't judge me for being in my pajamas which is always a plus. He fixed it in under 30 minutes and the price was fair. I would 100% use them again. There are not enough good adjectives to describe this AMAZING company! I was in a critical SOS situation after another HVAC company that I had booked 5 days earlier (Central Air Heating & Cooling) cancelled on me the day of to tell me that "there had been a mix up with my appt and they couldn't get me in for 3 more weeks"!!!!!! I was so frustrated and began quickly searching for help. I looked for a local company, hopped on Yelp and saw the 5 star reviews about Bridge City. I called after hours and left a message. First thing in the morning, Jessica called me with love and compassion in her voice after hearing my message of panic. We had just moved into a home where the entire 3 HVAC systems were not working at it has been over 100 degrees for the past 2 days. Jessica said, "we will move some things around and get out there within the hour". I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! Our technician, Fode (a veteran in the HVAC business), showed up and immediately determined that our entire systems needed to be shut down urgently. There was water pooling in on of the water catch bins in the attic around the system and he told me if I had waited even 2 more hours, I would have had water in the duct system and walls. He showed me the video and there was 12 inches of water in the bin!!! Having just bought this home, it was determined that the inspector DID NOT really inspect the system or he had not been cleaned in quite some time and it was resulting in a major unit breakdown. The Bridge City team came back that evening after their other appointments to spend time cleaning and repairing our system. Then to find out that this is a family business, I was even more impressed. These people are some of the best people I have ever met. If you need any HVAC work done, I cannot urge you enough to reach out to Bridge City. They are my "go to" now forever and I even hugged the technicians when they left because without their quick response, we would have been in a very serious water damage situation. I'm a residential general contractor in the Portland area and I've used Bridge City HVAC on several of my projects -- as well as a new heater for my own house -- and I've found them always to be very friendly, detail oriented and with a high degree of professionalism and value for the money. Just recently Fode visited one of my jobs several times to work out all the problems and effectively plan a new heating/AC system in advance in a house that was not going to be an easy install. The planning paid off and the new system went in without a hitch thanks to his commitment to thoughtful quality. Jessica is regularly available to field general questions and help with scheduling. I know this is going to sound like a "bought and paid for" review but Bridge City really did save the day for us. We missed the heatwave here in PDX last week but our house didn't. While we were away, our AC/furnace blower was running 24/7. All that activity caused our furnace's capacitor (basically an overload protecting battery) to fail. Once that capacitor went out, the fan stopped blowing air making our AC non-existent. When we returned, it was late at night (and we'd set our away temp to 80º) so we didn't realize our AC wasn't cooling our house right away. The next morning, we opened the doors and windows to get the week-old air out. However, by the evening, with people and dogs moving about, our house heated up to a balmy 82º. The following day, I called Bridge City HVAC due to the positive reviews I'd seen on Nextdoor. I talked to a super friendly rep, Jessica, who scheduled me for an HVAC tune-up. Because of the heatwave, they were booked solid through the week but she still got me scheduled sooner than expected. That night, it crept up past 80º once again so I opened all windows in the house and slept downstairs to try and stay cool. This morning at 8am, the temperature in the house dropped below 65º which caused the furnace to kick on. The furnace heated up but the blower didn't send any of the heat into the house. Instead, the furnace heated up to the point where it burned all of the dust, spiderwebs, and accumulated sawdust inside which sent smoke into all the vents, into the smoke detectors, and triggering a visit from Lake Oswego's finest. I called Jessica back and said that my HVAC tuneup became a bit more complex overnight. After telling her the story, she immediately went to work finding someone in our area who could take a look at what was going on with our blower. Less than two hours later, we had a Lennox rep looking at our furnace and giving us an education on why we should schedule regular maintenance on our HVAC system (point taken). Next week Bridge City will be coming out to perform their tune-up on both our heating and AC. I'll likely be writing another review after that but I couldn't believe how quickly Jessica made our problem HER problem. Seriously, we couldn't be happier to have Bridge City as our local HVAC specialist and will heartily recommend them to anyone needing emergency repairs.

He answered everything in detail. I had no concerns after our conversation. Then the install came around. They really went above and beyond. Ran into a few unexpected issues with power and they got it done efficiently, without any weird power play to charge me more. (Unfortunately I think we've all had that contractor before.)

When my furnace stopped working and needed diagnosis, Bridge City got to my house in less than 2 hours. Dustin was fast to find the problem, and was back the next day to replace the gas valve. They charge flat rates for a job, whether the job runs short, or ends up being more than expected. Bafode and his team were great!

I highly recommend Bridge City HVAC because they were honest, knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and responsive. Here’s our story. In July, the heat waves were upon us, so we turned on the A/C (8 years old), and the thermostat didn’t turn the A/C on. We figured it would cost a $200 or so to replace the thermostat. We called another HVAC company, and they quoted us a high price to *repair” our 26-year-old HVAC. (The A/C was a later add-on.) We were shocked. We then called the company that did the A/C install even though my husband and I both had bad feelings about the installation crew (crude, disrespectful, and lacking attention to detail). This 2nd bid was less than the first, but we couldn’t get over our bad experience with the install. So then we turned to Bridge City HVAC. Fode is a joy to work with. He’s experienced and a problem-solver. His bid to replace our HVAC was $2K less than the bid to repair our system from the other guys. A team came to do the install. They treated our home like their own. I was particularly wary of them not damaging the new flooring I had in the utility room, and they took pains to protect our surfaces. Ours was a tricky install, and I think it took longer than they hoped. Yet, they were so patient with us, and we had lots of questions after the install. Throughout the process, when we had a question, the team was responsive. While the other guys seemed to be focused on their maintenance agreements to ensure their cash flow, Bridge City focuses on making sure that the customer gets the help they need and that they are satisfied with the outcome. Come for the local, small business, stay for the excellent service.

Our AC unit stopped working on the hottest week of the summer. They were able to get someone over the same day and fix the problem/replaced the part on the same day!

Our AC wouldn’t turn on and a heat wave was coming. With a big dog at home we were in a panic. Bridge City got us on the emergency list and we’re able to come out the same day. All other companies had a week wait for an appointment. They came out, diagnosed our issue and fixed it the same day because they keep common parts in their tech trucks. The Bridge City Technician arrived a few minutes early, listened carefully to our description of issues and began work right away. Issues were resolved and tested quickly. Then the regular furnace service was worked on - many items reviewed and/or cleaned. System is working great now. Bridge City provided competent, professional service and would recommend to anyone.

Our 15yr old furnace quit working and Bridge City sent their technician Drew out to our house within an hour of calling. Drew was a wealth of knowledge about all the working components within our HVAC system. He was able to troubleshoot, diagnose the problem, and had the parts to replace a broken low pressure switch all within one hour. This was great, as it saved us money and got the heat going in our house again. We were long-time customers of Garoken Energy and were sad when they decided to retire (the new company they passed their business to was a Carrier provider ☹️). Bridge City installed a heat pump at my house in October. They replaced an elderly furnace that was never installed properly, rebuilt some faulty ducts, and connected the system to the generator as well. Fode was great about explaining the new technology to me. Dave did most of the installation; he was very kind and patient with questions. Someone was sick that week so Dave even worked Saturday to make sure I wasn't without heat all weekend. Jessica is gracious and organized. I am very happy with the new system.

On a cold November day, our heating system went out. We moved into our home a few years ago and kept the 1992 unit clean and replaced filters regularly. I called the company that installed the system and has been mailing me come ons since we bought the house. They weren’t very interested in helping us out. They said they could come over in a couple of days. The narrowest time frame of arrival was between 12p and 5p. I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford to block out 5 hours for a less than one hour assessment. Then I called Bridge City Heating and Refrigeration in Lake Oswego. The office manager, Jessica, said they were pretty busy but would see what could be done. She called back very quickly and said someone would be out in a couple of hours. She called again to let me know precisely when to expect the technician, Freddy. Freddy assessed the situation, answered my questions and said he would get back to me soon. True to their word, they got back to me quickly and with a couple of options. Unfortunately, the parts from the manufacturer were so expensive that it did not make sense to repair the 25 year old system. Instead they gave me a bid for a replacement system and threw in an internet discount in addition. The new units are all expensive but Bridge City’s price was quite fair, even more so when they kept it the same no matter what they encountered. It gets even better, they got the parts the same day (Friday) and started work on Saturday and continued on Sunday! No service company I know of in recent memory would work through the weekend. Fode, the Lead Technician of this community conscious company, and his assistant, Kenny, were on site the entire time. Fode’s knowledge, expertise and good humor was much appreciated. He surmounted several unforeseeable installation obstacles and, despite having to use more time and materials than expected, kept to the originally quoted price. The result, a solid system, great installation, incredible work ethic and a reasonable price. Clearly, I highly recommend Bridge City Heating and Refrigeration to anyone in the Portland area.

I found Bridge City online with some good reviews so I decided to contact them for an estimate. They were one of 5 other quotes I received and overall what they sent me gave exactly what I was after for much less than some of the larger operations. The owner, Fode, was very communicative throughout the whole process. It did take a bit of time for delivery of the system but many of the other companies advised it would take a few weeks for delivery so I don’t think this was out of the ordinary. I would highly recommend their services and will be using them for all of my servicing needs.

This company is amazing. This weekend is supposed to be hot one, and of course my AC unit decides to stop working mid-week! Frantically calling anyone and everyone, not only does Jessica return my call promptly, but somehow manages to squeeze me in their schedule last-minute. When Fode arrived, I immediately felt like I was in good hands, and he didn’t make me feel terrible for not maintaining my AC unit as much as I should have. He found the issue, replaced the part immediately, explained everything clearly so I could understand, and had a friendly smile and demeanor the entire time. He answered all my questions and didn’t seem like he had a million other jobs to get to (even though he did), and I could have chatted with him for hours! I didn’t do any research prior to calling. But now I see Bridge City HVAC is a small family-owned business who even donates part of their profits to other parts of the world, and it makes me happy I’m supporting their business. You guys are the best, and now I know who to call for my HVAC needs again! Thank you!

We did not actually end up going with Bridge City HVAC due to product and timing, so this review is only for the quoting process. That said, we are keeping them high on our list for future needs. We were seeking to install new central AC (welcome to the new Portland climate) and did need to schedule our visit further in advance than some other companies, just due to demand and capacity right now. But the Lead Technician (and owner!) Fode Sannoh showed up right on time for our appointment. He was very friendly and courteous, asked good questions but did not waste our time, and was super helpful and informative around potential issues both with our equipment and with permit/siting/etc. He was extremely knowledgeable while also pointing out other questions to which he would find the answers, which I really appreciate. He was also transparent about the supply chain and how quickly it might be helpful to act without feeling sales/pushy. It is not normal for me to recommend a business that I haven't really used, but we were very impressed with the estimate process so here I am. Thanks Bridge City and we hope to work with you in the future!

Fode & Carlos showed up promptly, were very professional, courteous, and instructive. I learned more about my AC and furnace than ever, and now know how to better maintain the system, avoiding the need for future repairs. They left their work area even cleaner than they found it, and offered to dispose of my old parts for me. Also very personal and warm demeanors. I look forward to using Bridge City again. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with this company. They know their stuff! I recently had my furnace get red tagged by a company and am knowledgable enough to know that this seemed fishy. They then tried to upsell me to a very expensive furnace that is more than what i need. I called Bridge City HVAC. They were very prompt in their reply. They explained everything clearly do i could understand, and fid not try to upsell me. They discovered that my furnace has been installed in such a way to result in it running and shortening its life. They replaced the furnace, corrected the existing piping, and the price was more than fair. The guys who came to do the install introduced themselves, worked efficiently, and did a walk through with me, explaining everything in detail. I highly recommend this company!

Very Impressed by services of this company at the closing times to Thanksgiving. Just two days to holiday, our Lennox Thermostat stopped working and with the cold weather outside our home got cold too. After trying couple of businesses I knew and getting negative response for no availability, contacted Bridge City HVAC and was scheduled right away for diagnosis by technician Jacob and scheduled next day for replacing the old one with new. We had our home furnace breakdown in early December. We contacted a number of HVAC repair companies, and Bridge City was the most responsive and did a great job getting our heating system up and running. Very knowledgeable specialists.

I'm an electrician and work in HVAC, but our 36yr old furnace finally had problem I couldn't fix. Of course it happened during the coldest weather of the year. I called Fode and he and crew came out with a replacement furnace quickly, and we had heat by the end of the day. It did take a second day to finish the installation, but we had heat. And even with the emergency service, the cost was very reasonable. The installation was done just the way I would have done it myself. Thank you Fode.

When our 35 year old central AC unit finally died, we called Bridge City HVAC for replacement. We decided to replace our still functioning, but 20 year old heater as well. We called Fode and his team to asses our needs, and he gave us several options. He even investigated getting our old AC up and running again. Ultimately, replacement seemed the best option for our home. The office staff was professional, polite, and efficient. Fode came out prior to installation to carefully measure for the new equipment, and the installation went smoothly. The installation team was polite, professional, and respectful of our home and yard. The AC, heater, and thermostat were installed and we are very satisfied with the results. The outside AC unit is extremely quiet (our neighbors could hear the old one) and we finally have an HVAC system with an adequate filter. The thermostat is easy to use. We would definitely recommend Bridge City HVAC for your home.
